Our Direct Primary Care clinic in Richmond, VA is closed today while we prepare our on-site pharmacy for state inspection.
When an independent primary care practice moves locations, it’s more than just unpacking boxes. Especially when that practice includes an on-site pharmacy designed to provide affordable medications directly to patients. Over the past week, we’ve been operating in what can only be described as organized chaos.

An ice storm created a chain reaction of delays with subcontractors and furniture deliveries. Final installations took longer than expected. Lighting is still being perfected. Ceiling tiles have been negotiated with. And in the middle of it all, Dr. B officially began parental leave — because babies do not coordinate with construction timelines.

But today’s focus is simple: pharmacy readiness.
Our on-site pharmacy is a core part of how we keep healthcare affordable and transparent for our Richmond community. Preparing for inspection means:
Confirming proper medication storage and temperature monitoring
Ensuring labeling and documentation systems meet regulatory standards
Securing inventory appropriately
Verifying safety and compliance protocols
This is detailed, meticulous work. It is not something we are willing to rush between patient visits.
So we closed the office for the day to do it right. We will re-open tomorrow for our usual business hours. As always, your physicians remain available by phone for urgent needs.
Thank you for your patience as we finish settling into our new space. Building an independent, inclusive primary care clinic takes intention — and sometimes a drill.
