Families across the region are facing sudden and unpredictable changes in access to gender-affirming care. Some clinics have paused or closed their programs, leaving parents unsure where to turn -- especially when a child is already receiving treatment or was preparing to start.

At Seven Hills Family Medicine, we continue to provide full-scope gender-affirming care for children, teens, and adults. This includes puberty blockers, hormone therapy (HRT), and ongoing primary care, all delivered in accordance with established guidelines and tailored to each patient’s individual situation.

What to Expect

We treat each and every patient with a comprehensive in-person visit at our office. During that visit we;

  • Review your child’s medical and social history

  • Carefully go over any prior records, prescriptions, and lab results

  • Discuss your child’s goals and current needs

  • Outline a plan that fits both best-practice guidelines and your family’s comfort level

If your child has already started treatment elsewhere, we’ll assess continuity of care, prior labs and imaging, and when appropriate, continue medications safely. If treatment hasn’t yet started, we’ll determine together whether it’s the right time and approach.

Our Approach

We recognize that many families have already spent considerable time, and money, to obtain the necessary studies or evaluations that other clinics have requested. One of our core values is resource management, and so we are committed to ensuring that resources are used wisely and efficiently. When we meet with your child, we are intentional and thoughtful about what further tests we might need.

Gender-affirming care is patient-centered care. We recognize that each child and family brings their own context, values, and pace. Our goal is to create a supportive medical home where decisions are thoughtful, evidence-based, and never rushed.

Moving Forward

We know that this is a challenging and uncertain time. If your family is transferring care or exploring options for the first time, know that we are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
